Preamble: The ARTA - JOHNSON Award is made possible by Johnson Inc. (ARTA's consultant for its benefit package), who chose to re-invest through ARTA an award that could be earned by some deserving individual(s) each year at the discretion of ARTA. The intended purpose of the ARTA-Johnson Award is to recognize Community Involvement and Volunteer Work, and although not the focus of this award, academic achievement will also have a vital influence on the overall determination of the award recipient(s). As well future goals, personal accomplishments and supporting letters of reference will also be significant.

Criteria

1. An Award Selection Committee will consider all valid applications and determine the number of awards to be given and the amount of each. The Committee's decision is final.

2. The total value of the award money will be determined each year dependant on the funds available from the sponsor and other salient factors determined by the Representative Committee of ARTA.

3. Applicants are welcome from immediate and extended families of ARTA members "in good standing".

4. The award is limited to the completed first and/or second years of any one undergraduate program.

5. Applicants who previously received the ARTA - Johnson award, or part thereof, do not qualify for a subsequent award.

6. Transcripts from post secondary completed work form part of the evaluating process.

7. Names, addresses and phone numbers of reference personnel must be supplied should contact be essential in fulfilling the adjudication process.

8. Applicants are NOT to send in ORIGINAL documents. Authenticated copies of originals will be accepted. Note: Applicants wishing the return of their supporting documents or materials must provide a note stating such desire and supply a stamped, self addressed envelope for the materials.

9. Applications must be received at the ARTA office no later than July 1st of current year.
